Downtown LA Art Walk Exhibition

Four of my photographs are part of the art show at the Rosslyn Lofts in Downtown LA for the Downtown LA Art Walk.

“The Avila Adobe, was built in 1818 by Francisco Avila, and has the distinction of being the oldest standing residence in Los Angeles, California, USA.”

(Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avila_Adobe).

Skid Row, Los Angeles: “The area contains one of the largest stable populations of homeless persons in the United States.”

(Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skid_Row,_Los_Angeles,_California).

As someone new to Downtown LA, the contrast between the idealized historic image of the Avila Adobe and the reality of Skid Row provoked me to observe the disparities around me.

These are the four photographs that were exhibited and some photographs of the exhibition itself.
